Westwood College
Westwood College of Technology provides career training and education for high school graduates and adults who want to learn practical skills in high demand fields. The college has seventeen locations across the country, with healthcare training being offered at the school's campuses in Atlanta, Denver, Chicago, Dallas, Ft. Worth, and Houston.
With small class sizes and hands on learning opportunities, the college's programs are designed to let graduates hit the ground running in their chosen fields. The faculty has industry experience, and programs are continually revised to meet the latest technology and industry standards. The Denver campus recently underwent a $4 million renovation, and offers day and evening classes, along with extensive career planning and placement services.
Degree and Diploma Programs and Courses of Study
Healthcare Management
Offered by the school's Institute of Business, the Healthcare Management bachelor's degree provides a strong foundation in business principles, and then relates these principles to the operation of a healthcare institution. Through a combination of multimedia instruction and lecture, students learn accounting, marketing, personnel management, finance, and more. Then, healthcare specific courses, including Law and Compliance in Healthcare, and Healthcare Public and Community Relations relate general business concepts to the healthcare industry. This program is offered at the Chicago Loop, O'Hare, and River Oaks campuses in Illinois.

Medical Assisting
Learn the skills needed to start a career as a medical assistant with this hands-on program. Students gain front office skills, including setting appointments, managing patient flow, and processing insurance claims. In the school's clinical lab facilities, students also receive training in back office skills, including assisting doctors with taking vital signs, performing EKG's and phlebotomy. The program includes an externship in a medical office or clinic, and is offered as a diploma program at all campuses except Chicago Loop and Denver North, and as an associate degree at both Denver locations and Atlanta.

Medical Billing and Coding
This program gives students the classroom and hands-on training they need to start a career in the healthcare field, processing insurance and reimbursement claims for doctors, hospitals, and insurance companies. Students learn medical terminology, human anatomy and physiology, and administrative and reimbursement procedures. This program is offered in Denver North, Dallas, Ft. Worth and Houston.
