Keiser University eCampus Online

Keiser University eCampus Online is the distance learning division of Florida's Keiser University. The school provides a career-focused education from a highly trained and experienced faculty. In the online program, students take one four-week course at a time, allowing them to master one area of material before moving on.

Degree Programs and Courses of Study

Associate of Arts - Health Services Administration

The Associate degree program in Health Services Administration prepares the graduate for an administrative position in a doctor's office, clinic, or other health care setting. Coursework is divided between business administration courses, including business principles, business law, and marketing, and medical office management courses, including medical terminology, anatomy and physiology, and medical office software.

A feature of the program is the use of laptop computers and software applications.

Bachelor of Arts - Health Services Administration

Expanding beyond the coursework offered in the Associate degree program, the Bachelor program provides a deeper look into the duties and responsibilities of the health care administrator. Through the use of case studies and projects, students explore the political, economic and social issues involved in providing healthcare. The program also covers the financial and legal issues facing the industry, and develops the student's communications and critical thinking skills.

Associate of Science - Medical Assisting

This unique online degree program combines classroom education provided over the Internet with laboratory and practical training at a doctor's office or clinic near the student's home. Students receive instruction in radiology, anatomy and physiology, and medical office management. In the clinical/lab portion of the program, students learn to assist in patient care, perform EKGs, and perform laboratory diagnostic tests.

In the third phase of the program, students participate in an externship at the medical office used for their lab training. This lets them get hands-on experience with the skills they have learned. This program is only available at the University's campus locations.

Admissions and Financial Aid

Students wishing to enroll must have a high school diploma or a GED. An online entrance exam may be waived for students having taken the SAT or ACT. The school has a financial aid office that can assist in locating loans, grants, and scholarships.
