A feature of the program is the use of laptop computers and software applications. Bachelor of Arts - Health Services AdministrationExpanding beyond the coursework offered in the Associate degree program, the Bachelor program provides a deeper look into the duties and responsibilities of the health care administrator. Through the use of case studies and projects, students explore the political, economic and social issues involved in providing healthcare. The program also covers the financial and legal issues facing the industry, and develops the student's communications and critical thinking skills. Associate of Science - Medical AssistingThis unique online degree program combines classroom education provided over the Internet with laboratory and practical training at a doctor's office or clinic near the student's home. Students receive instruction in radiology, anatomy and physiology, and medical office management. In the clinical/lab portion of the program, students learn to assist in patient care, perform EKGs, and perform laboratory diagnostic tests. In the third phase of the program, students participate in an externship at the medical office used for their lab training. This lets them get hands-on experience with the skills they have learned.
