Herzing College
Herzing College began as a computer programming school in Minneapolis in 1965. Since that time, it has grown to encompass eleven campuses in the United States and Canada. It has also added to its program offerings, which now include business, design, and healthcare training.
The school's mission is to provide a high quality education that meets the career needs of graduates and employers alike, while including general education elements that broaden the student's ability to communicate and analyze problems. The school prides itself on its small class sizes and personalized attention to the needs of each student.
The school offers job placement assistance, and provides students with a quality assurance program that lets them retake any classes within 12 months of completion if they or the employer are dissatisfied.
Herzing offers medical training programs at campuses in Atlanta, Georgia; Birmingham, Alabama; Madison, Wisconsin; Minneapolis, Minnesota; New Orleans, Louisiana; Orlando, Florida; Ottawa and Toronto, Ontario; and Winnipeg, Manitoba. Degree Programs and Courses of Study
Clinic Office Assistant
Develop your clinical office skills with this program that includes training in medical office procedures, clinical documents, including patient charts and records, and computer skills. Students learn word processing and clinic software, as well as clinical and laboratory procedures.
The program is offered at the Winnipeg, MB campus. It includes an internship.

Dental Assisting
Herzing's Dental Assisting program is offered as a diploma or an Associate of Applied Science degree program. Students receive training in chairside assisting, radiology, dental materials, and dental science. The program includes an internship, and is only offered at the Minneapolis campus.

Associate Degree in Health Care
This program provides an opportunity for students to earn their associate degree by taking concentration courses in the College's health care diploma programs, including Medical Billing and Insurance Coding, Therapeutic Massage, Medical Assisting, or Medical Office Administration. In addition to the core courses, students take general education and personal development courses.
This program is offered at the College's campuses in Atlanta, Birmingham, Madison, and New Orleans.

Bachelor's Degree in Health Care Management
Offered at the College's campuses in Birmingham, Atlanta, New Orleans, Madison and Minneapolis, as well as online, this degree program combines coursework in traditional business principles with training in the clinical and management areas of the health care field. Students take courses in accounting, marketing and sales, and project management, along with healthcare specific courses in medical personnel management, insurance and billing procedures, and legal and ethical issues in the health care field. Prior to graduation, students either work in an internship or conduct a research project.

Bachelor's Degree in Health Information Management
Prepare for an entry-level position in the health information management field with this degree program. Students develop the skills needed to manage medical records systems, including the assigment of diagnostic and procedure codes. Students receive raining in anatomy, physiology and disease processes along with important general business principles.

Medical Assisting
The Medical Assisting diploma program includes courses on the clinical, laboratory, and office procedures needed to become a part of the health care team at a doctor's office or clinic. Courses include anatomy and physiology, clinical assisting, lab procedures, and medical office administration. The program is offered at the Birmingham, Minneapolis, New Orleans and Orlando campuses, as well as online. The Birmingham, Minneapolis, New Orleans and Orlando locations also offer an associate degree program.

Medical Billing and Insurance Coding
This diploma program prepares the graduate for a career in health information management, medical coding and billing, or medical office assistant. Students learn medical office terminology, anatomy and physiology. They receive instruction on insurance billing procedures, and the ICD-9-CM and CPT-4, and CPT/HCPCS coding systems. Additional instruction is provided in customer service and data management.
The program is offered at all US locations. It is also offered online.

Medical Office Administration
Learn the skills necessary to take on a role in a doctors's office, clinic, or other health care facility with this diploma program. You'll learn the basics of medicine, including the terminology used in a medical office. You'll find out how to process insurance claims, including medical coding with the ICD-9 and CPT-4 systems. You'll also learn about medical law and ethics, and how they affect the administration of a health care office.
This program is offered at the Madison, Wisconsin campus and online.

Pharmacy Technician
The Pharmacy Technician program includes training on drug preparation, pharmacology, and pharmacy practice. Courses include medical terminology, pharmacy software, the hospital pharmacy, and communications skills. Students learn prescription processing, inventory control, and billing and recordkeeping procedures.
The program is offered at the Ottawa and Toronto, Ontario and Winnipeg, Manitoba campuses. It includes an internship.

Therapeutic Massage
Through a combination of classroom instruction and hands-on practice, students in the Therapeutic Massage program develop the skills they need to become entry-level massage therapists. Courses include Anatomy, Physiology, and Pathology. Students learn commonly used massage and hydrotherapy techniques, Kinesiology, and other modalities used in practice, including sports massage and acupuncture.
The program includes an internship, and is offered at the Atlanta and Orlando campuses.
