Dover Business College
Dover Business college has a 40 year history providing quality, career-focused education in northern New Jersey's Passaic and Morris counties. The school prides itself on being "The Information Technology Specialists", and integrates current computer and software applications into all of its training programs.
Each of the medical and healthcare training programs are taught Monday through Thursday, with either day classes or evening classes available. The school maintains an extensive career services office, with job placement available to graduates, along with continuing education courses.
The Medical programs at Dover Business College are accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP) on the recommendation of the Committee on Accreditation for Medical Assistant Education, also known as the Curriculum Review Board of the American Association of Medical Assistant's Endowment (AAMAE).
Programs and Courses of Study
Licensed Practical Nurse
Prepare for the NCLEX-PN Practical Nurse licensure examination with the Licensed Practical Nurse diploma program. Students learn the principles of nursing, and study the systems of the human body, including the respiratory, gastrointestinal, cardiovascular and endocrine systems. They also learn nursing procedures for specific populations, including maternity, oncology, and acute care.

Medical Assistant
Students in the Medical Assistant program learn clinical, lab, and office procedures that prepare them for a hands-on position assisting physicians in a health care facility. Courses include Medical Terminology, Anatomy, and Physiology, along with Pharmacology, Phlebotomy, and Hematology. Students also receive an introduction to front office operations, including billing practices, medical transcriptions, and patient relations. The program includes an internship.

Medical Insurance and Coding Administration
The Medical Insurance and Coding Administration program introduces the student to the most current procedures used in medical coding and billing, and insurance reimbursement procedures for doctor's offices, dentist's offices, and clinics. Courses include Medical Coding, Government Insurance Policies, Computerized Insurance Billing, and Claims Adjusting. The 12 month day or 18 month evening program includes an internship.

Patient Care Technician
Students in the Patient Care Technician program learn the procedures used monitoring patients under the supervision of doctors, nurses, and other health care professionals. The nine month day or 13 1/2 month evening program includes studies in physiology and anatomy, and introduces procedures including hematology, phlebotomy, and electrocardiography. Students gain clinical experience in patient care procedures.

Surgical Technologist
The Surgical Technologist program prepares graduates to become part of the team of operating room professionals. The program uses an operating room laboratory to teach students about surgical instrumentation, procedures, and techniques. Clinical practicums and an internship provide valuable experience to prepare the graduate for possible positions in hospitals, patient care centers, and surgical centers. The program lasts 15 months if taken in day classes, or 22 1/2 months of evening classes.

Admissions and Financial Aid
Prior to admission, students must have completed high school, or obtained a G.E.D. You can get your questions about the college answered, or start the admissions process by filling out the online request form. Because of the importance of financial aid in attending college, all Dover Business College applicants are scheduled to meet with the Financial Aid office prior to admission to explore all available financing options.
