The school prides itself on being "The Information Technology Specialists", and integrates current computer and software applications into all of its training programs. Each of the medical and healthcare training programs are taught Monday through Thursday, with either day classes or evening classes available. Courses include Medical Terminology, Anatomy, and Physiology, along with Pharmacology, Phlebotomy, and Hematology. Students also receive an introduction to front office operations, including billing practices, medical transcriptions, and patient relations. The program includes an internship. Medical Insurance and Coding AdministrationThe Medical Insurance and Coding Administration program introduces the student to the most current procedures used in medical coding and billing, and insurance reimbursement procedures for doctor's offices, dentist's offices, and clinics. Courses include Medical Coding, Government Insurance Policies, Computerized Insurance Billing, and Claims Adjusting. The 12 month day or 18 month evening program includes an internship. Patient Care TechnicianStudents in the Patient Care Technician program learn the procedures used monitoring patients under the supervision of doctors, nurses, and other health care professionals. The nine month day or 13 1/2 month evening program includes studies in physiology and anatomy, and introduces procedures including hematology, phlebotomy, and electrocardiography. Surgical TechnologistThe Surgical Technologist program prepares graduates to become part of the team of operating room professionals. The program uses an operating room laboratory to teach students about surgical instrumentation, procedures, and techniques. Clinical practicums and an internship provide valuable experience to prepare the graduate for possible positions in hospitals, patient care centers, and surgical centers.
