Lincoln TechLincoln Tech® was founded in 1946 to provide career-focused technical training for the World War II generation. Since that time, it has grown to encompass 20 locations, with campuses in Connecticut, Massachusetts, Pennsylvania, New Jersey and Rhode Island focusing on training in the medical-healthcare area, and other locations providing training in the Automotive, HVAC, and information technology fields. Class sizes are deliberately kept small in order to offer the best educational experience. Students can choose from morning, afternoon, and evening classes, taught by instructors with industry experience. The school offers a wide variety of services for its students, including career placement and employment preparation services, tutoring programs, and additional training services for graduates. Health Care Programs and Courses of StudyMassage TherapyThe Massage Therapy program prepares students for rewarding careers as massage therapists. Medical AssistantThe Medical Assistant program provides a strong foundation for a career in health services. Students learn clinical and lab skills needed to work in a physician's office or clinic. They also learn what it takes to work on the administrative side of the office, including clerical and financial skills, and the people skills needed to interact with patients, insurance companies, and other staff members. Medical Assisting and Administrative TechnologyThe demand for health care professionals with the skills to contribute to both the clinical and lab parts of the medical practice, along with front office administrative duties is the inspiration for this Associate of Applied Science degree program in Medical Assisting and Administrative Technology. The program combines the training offered in the Medical Assisting and Medical Administrative Assistant programs. It is only offered at the school's Pennsylvania campuses. Medical Administrative AssistantStudents are learn the skills required for a position as a medical administrative assistant from the ground up, starting with training in computer and communications skills, including how to use the Internet, Microsoft Word, and Microsoft Excel. They learn medical terminology, and gain familiarity with anatomy, mental health, and physiology. Finally, they learn how to perform medical support functions, including scheduling appointments, recording patient histories and maintaining charts, and processing insurance and billing forms. Medical Coding and BillingThe field of medical billing and coding is one of the fastest growing healthcare occupations. Increased computerization, plus increased emphasis on patient protection and medical privacy rights have increased the demand for medical coders that are computer literate. The Lincoln Tech medical coding and billing program is ideal for someone that enjoys working with numbers and wants to have a career in the medical field. Pharmacy TechnicianIn the Pharmacy Technician program, students gain the skills they need to assist pharmacists in drug stores or hospital pharmacies. Using a combination of classroom instruction and hands-on laboratory experience, students learn about preparing and mixing medications, working with patient information and filing insurance claims, and monitoring inventory. Admissions and Financial AidIf you are interested in becoming a student at Lincoln Tech, you can fill out an online request so that an admissions counselor can provide the next steps in the process. The school has a number of financial aid options available, including federal aid for those who qualify. The school can develop a Financial Assistance Plan which will cover the cost of the student's education.
