Note: Because schools change the programs offered at their campuses periodically, not every campus of each school will offer all programs, and program names may change slightly from campus to campus.

While we try to keep up with the programs each school offers, you should visit the school's website by following the Request Information link to verify the exact programs offered at each campus.

Anthem Institute

Anthem Institute got its start more than 30 years ago when their former parent company discovered that it couldn't find qualified employees, and decided to start its own training program. Before long, the company's clients were requesting similar training, and the school began offering its educational programs to the general public.

The school's approach to results oriented training includes classes led by highly qualified instructors, and an extensive online library of reference material. The school also offers career development programs and job placement assistance.

Diploma Programs and Courses of Study

Because of scheduling and other limitations, not all programs are available at every campus at all times. Check with your local campus for current offerings.

Massage Therapy

The Massage Therapy diploma program at Anthem Institute gives students hands on training in the therapeutic techniques used to treat soft tissue injuries. Classroom training covers anatomy and physiology, along with nutrition and wellness. Students also learn and practice massage and related procedures, including traditional Swedish massage, sports and deep-tissue massage, hydrotherapy, aromatherapy, and spa treatments. This training is supplemented supervised experience at a massage clinic. Finally, students gain the skills they need to operate their own massage therapy business.

Medical Assistant

Combining training in medical back-office procedures and administrative front-office duties, the Medical Assistant diploma program prepares students for a position in a doctor's office or health clinic. Beginning with a study of the anatomy and physiology of the human body, along with basic diagnostic techniques, students learn clinical and lab procedures, including injections, venipuncture, and EKGs. They learn how to interact with patients, from welcoming patients, to explaining medical procedures, to preparing them for exams. Finally, they receive an introduction to medical office administration, including insurance claims processing. This training is reinforced with an externship in a medical facility.

Medical Billing and Coding

Students in the Medical Billing and Coding diploma program develop the knowledge and skills needed to maintain patient financial and treatment records, and arrange for reimbursement by insurance companies. In order to be able to correctly assign the proper codes to claim forms, the program provides training in medical terminology, human anatomy, and common diseases, along with pharmacology. Students learn the procedures used by insurance companies to process and reimburse claims, and how to organize and maintain medical records. Finally, they receive an introduction to the general administrative functions in a doctor's office. The program includes an internship.

Surgical Technologist

Surgical Technologists assist in the operating room before, during, and after surgery. The Surgical Technologist diploma program provides hands-on training in the procedures and techniques to become an operating room technician or surgical scrub. Students learn to prepare and sterilize the instruments used by the surgeon. They also learn how to prepare patients for surgery, and to assist doctors by applying surgical bandages. Students can practice their new skills during an internship at a medical facility. Upon graduation, they can sit for the TS-C NCCT Certification Examination.
